Work at The National Archives will be completed (where possible) within 4

projects, a research framework will be negotiated in advance, and
a report will be submitted within a week of the end of the agreed
research period.

We try to offer
competitive prices, whilst reflecting the depth of experience and
specialist knowledge of our researchers. All rates quoted throughout
this site exclude the cost of photocopies and travel expenses to all
non-TNA archives. No photocopies will be made, or external archives
visited, without prior consultation. For a full list of our prices,

Payment
Unlike some
researchers, we do not request payment up front; but this means
that we trust you to pay us promptly once we have completed your
work. You will be invoiced for the work, and payment should be made
with cash, or personal cheque made payable to 'Nick Barratt', and
sent within 7 days of receipt of an invoice to the address listed
above. A receipt can be provided on request.
However, if payment is not forthcoming, we reserve the right to
place the outstanding sum in the hands of Sovereign Legal Services,
a debt collection agency. This may result in additional administrative
costs and, if necessary, court fees and interest charges.
We frequently
receive requests for research from individuals overseas. Whilst
we are happy to accept payment in your currency, to cover the conversion
fees charged by our British bank we add £8 to the invoice.
Alternatively you may prefer to arrange a bankers' draft in sterling
with your bank. Please let us know which method of payment you would
prefer.
